DNS relay
A function for relaying packets from clients to domain name server addresses
between servers and clients that exist in subnets with different DNS (Domain Name
System) systems.
DS domain
Network that provides Diff-serv functions
DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point)
The upper 6 bits of the DS field in the IP header of IP flow
DVMRP (Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol)
A distance vector type route control protocol used in IPv4 multicast
Diff-serv (Differentiated services) function
A function that sets priority from IP packet header data and processing is executed
by the router in accordance with that priority.
Dynamic routing
A routing method for exchanging route data with other routers on the network and
selecting routes using routing protocols.
E
Equal cost multipath
If there are multiple paths between two points with the same cost, these multiple
paths are known as equal cost multipaths.
Explicit routing
A method for specifying IP addresses of MPLS core routers to be transited and setting
LSPs along routes other than relay routes specified by IP routing protocols.
Export filter
Controls redistribution of route data between routing protocols operating
simultaneously in the router. With export filter, specific route data is sent to specific
destinations based on distribution destination protocol filtering and learning source
protocol filtering.
External peer
A peer belonging to different ASs formed between BGP speakers. IP addresses used
in peering use interface addresses of directly connected interfaces
F
FDB (Filtering Data Base)
A table used in transparent bridges. The frame local MAC address, the port that
received the frame and monitor time are recorded in FDB.
FEC (Forwarding Equivalence Class)
Traffic identifier in which the bus (LSP) used in MPLS is set. General FECs are
destination IP addresses or IP prefixes
