Communication failure in QoS
7.12.1
Communication failures with Policy-Server
Prior to troubleshooting on communication failures with the policy-server, check to
see if the communication is enabled properly between the policy server and the
Router. To check this, establish a communication route according to Subsection
5.2.2, “Confirming the communication with relevant destination address”.
The following part explains the troubleshooting procedures to be followed in case any
of the following failures occur despite the fact that the communication route between
the policy-server and the router has been established.
7.12.1.1
Communication Cannot Be Established between the Policy-Server and the Router When
COPS is Started
(a) Inspection of Configuration Definition Information on Cops Agents
[Example]
Step 1.
Log in to the Router.
Step 2.
Check to see with the configuration definition command (CLI type 1)
show
cops
whether the cops agent information is properly set up. If negative,
define the information on the cops agents by referring to GR2000
Configuration Commands, Vol. 2.
(config)# show cops
cops yes{
pepid “routerA1” ;
primary 172.16.250.100 primary_port 3101 ;
backup 172.16.250.200 backup_port 3101 ;
server_password 1 “xxxxxx”;
cops_password1 1 “yyyyyyyy”;
cops_password2 2 “zzzzzz”;
};
Step 3.
Make sure with the configuration command (CLI) type 1)
show ip
that the IP
information is set up. No information will be displayed on the policy-server
for those interfaces whose IP address information has not been set up with
the
ip
command.
