Confirmation of IPv4 Multicast Routing Information
5.4.1
Confirming Routes to Destination Group Address
Confirm using a show ip mcache command that the route to a destination address
exists when IPv4 multicast routing information is set in the router. If no route exists
and downstream is not correct, see Subsection 5.4.2, “Confirming the PIM-DM and
PIM-SM information” to Subsection 5.4.4, “Confirming the IGMP information”.

Confirming the PIM-DM and PIM-SM information
The contents of confirmation when a PIM-DM or PIM-SM function is set using the
IPv4 multicast routing information of the router are as described below.
5.4.2.1
Interface information
Execute a show ip pim interface command and confirm the following.
Ensure that the Interface in the target Address is appropriate. If no interface
name is shown, PIM-DM or PIM-SM is not operating in that interface. Check the
configuration information to see if the corresponding interface is set to “PIM
enable.” In addition, ensure that the interface is not failing.
Ensure that the Nbr Count (number of neighbor PIM routers) in the target
Interface is appropriate. If “0” is shown, there may not be a neighbor PIM router
