Troubleshooting
GR2K-GA-0015

Ver. 07-02
Step 1.
Confirm the tunnel interface definition by using the configuration defining
information.
Confirm that the address for the tunnel information set by the
tunnel
command ; Configuration Command (CLI type 1) is set in an interface other
than the tunnel interface of this router. If the address is found to be wrong,
change it to the correct address.
Confirm that the address set in the tunnel information, and the protocol of
the address set in the tunnel interface by
ip
command; Configuration
Command (CLI type 1) are not the same. If found to be the same, change it to
the correct address.
Step 2.
Confirm the tunnel interface status by executing the
show ipv6 interface
command.
Confirm that the address shown by the physical address of the indication
result is one that was set in an interface other than the tunnel interface of
this router. If the address is found to be wrong, change it to the correct
address.
Confirm that the address shown by the physical address of the indication
result is UP. If not UP, the said interface is considered to have an
impediment, see Subsection 7.5.1, “Communication cannot be done or
communication is disconnected,” on page 7-23, and Subsection 7.8.1,
“Communication cannot be done or communication is disconnected,” on
page 7-65.
Step 3.
Confirm connectivity from this router and the connected router to the home
address and the destination address set in the tunnel information by
executing the
ping
,
ping ipv6
command.
If no connectivity is found from either router, the route information is
considered to have a problem, see Subsection 7.5.1, “Communication cannot
be done or communication is disconnected,” on page 7-23, and Subsection
7.8.1, “Communication cannot be done or communication is disconnected,”
on page 7-65.
If no connectivity is found from one of the routers, confirm with the network
configuration as to whether an address-converting router is used between the
relaying routes. If an address-converting router is used, it falls under the
prohibition configuration. Therefore, change the network configuration so
that no address-converting router is installed between the relaying routes for
setting the tunnels, see the GR2000 Applications Guide.
Step 4.
Confirm the network configuration.
Confirm the arrival route of the connection address set in the tunnel interface
by executing the
show netstat routing-table numeric
command. If the destination
of the route to be relayed is of another tunnel interface of this router, it may
be conceivable that it has become a multiplex tunnel of a prohibited
configuration. Change the setting of the route control so that an interface
other than the tunnel interface will be the relay destination, see the GR2000
Applications Guide.
