Fuel Point Setup for Ground Loop Fueling

This setup procedure must be performed before the system can accept any transactions
originating from the ground loop antenna. This routine only needs to be performed once for
each FPR, regardless of the number of pumps assigned to the FPR or the number of vehicles
equipped with a VM.

To set up the Fuel Point for Ground Loop Fueling, proceed as follows:

1

At the SC, go to the Individual Parameters menu of the FUELPT.BIN program; reconfigure
one of the ring channels on each FPR to be type “P” (pump).

2

Position a vehicle over the ground loop antenna at one FPR.

3

At the VM, disconnect the T-Ring wires from the GATE connector and move them to the T-
RING connector.

4

Pump some quantity of fuel then hang up the hose.

5

Verify if a transaction was recorded showing the correct VM data.

6

Repeat steps

for each FPR.

7

At the VM, move the T-Ring wires from the GATE connector back to the T-RING connector.

8

At the SC, go to the Individual Parameters menu of the FUELPT.BIN program; reconfigure
the ring channels for each FPR back to type “L” (ground loop).

Fuel Point - Pump Activation Test

To perform the Fuel Point - Pump Activation Test, proceed as follows:

1

Take a hose from the pump and turn on the pump handle.
The pump should not reset. Turn the pump handle off again.

2

Verify if a vehicle has been properly equipped with a programmed Fuel Point VM and
antenna. If equipped with the EID option, touch a valid EID to the EID Reader and verify if
the green lamp on the Reader is lit.

3

If this fueling position is not equipped with a ground loop antenna, skip this step.
Position the vehicle over the ground loop antenna.
The pump should be authorized.
Turn the pump handle on and begin fueling.

4

If this fueling position is equipped with a nozzle antenna ring, turn the pump on and insert the
nozzle into the vehicle.
Within a few seconds, the pump should be activated and fueling can begin.
