SC III/POS WS Setup Start-up Commands
SC III/POS WS Setup
Since a demo MASTER.PLU file exists on the SC III/POS WS, you must delete or rename this
file before loading department and item information.
1 To do this, access the Main Menu by turning the Manager’s key to MGR position, sign on (if
required), press SPEC FUNC, 0 and ENTER.
The Main Menu displays.
2 Press 0 and ENTER.
The NT desktop displays.
3 Click on Start with the right mouse button. From the menu, click on Explore. Find the POS
directory on the left side of the window and click on it. Find MASTER.PLU on the right side
of the window and click on it once.
4 To delete the MASTER.PLU file, press the DEL key.
When prompted to confirm, click Yes.

To rename the file, click on the file in the upper lefthand corner of the window.
From the menu, select Rename.
Type the new name of the file and press ENTER.
Close the Explorer window
5 Double-click the Profit Point icon.
A prompt saying that the master PLU file is missing will be displayed.
6 Type Y and press CLEAR MENU when prompted.
Another prompt will display saying the program was unable to open the PLU file.
7 Press ENTER.
8 Select item 2 from the Main Menu and press ENTER.
The prompt Create new PLU file MASTER.PLU (Y,N)? displays.
9 Press Y and ENTER.
You will be prompted to enter the maximum file size.
10 Enter a number between 110 and 60,000 and press ENTER.
After a new MASTER.PLU file is created, press any key to continue.
The PLU Maintenance menu displays.
11 Press 0 and ENTER.
The Main Menu displays.
To return to POS mode, select 1 on the Main Menu and press ENTER.
12 Execute special function 37.
It may be necessary to sign on as a user with a higher permission level.
