the ribbon and the self-test mode of operation as explained in the Star Receipt Printer
Manual

10. SYSTEM APPROVALS
Note any remarks or comments from the customer in the space provided.
Have a responsible contact person sign the Start-up Form and sign it yourself. This indicates that
the system has been accepted by the customer and the installation is approved by you.
Demonstrate how to clean the reader at the ICR unit.
Magnetic Card Reader
1. Use the GASBOY cleaning card. Order GASBOY Part Number C08757 for a box of
50 cleaning cards.
2. Slide the cleaning card through several times.
3. Turn the card around and slide it through several times. By turning the card around,
you will use the entire cleaning area.
4. Clean the card reader at least once a week. The frequency of cleaning required depends
on the environment the system is in and how heavily it is used. Failure to clean the card
reader regularly could result in premature failure.
