Product Description
Drag-and-Drop
The option to Drag-and-Drop a modem/router unit onto an antenna is now
supported in the Antenna view, automatically binding all mod/demods to
their associated up/down converters.
Block Active Demodulator
In previous versions of the VMS, an operator was not allowed to mark an active
“Allocated” demodulator for non-operation. The demodulators could only be
blocked during a non-active state, making maintenance of a unit difficult. This
new version allows an active demodulator to be pre-blocked for out-of-service
or decommissioning.
Codecast Image Upgrade
The modem/router application image upgrade feature now supports multiple
methods of transfer: consecutive, concurrent, and codecast. The new Codecast
feature, when used in conjunction with Multi-Select (see above), provides the
means to perform a software upgrade to multiple like units by reliably multi-
casting a single file transaction.
Codecast works with CDD-880 and CDM-840 units running v1.5.2.x or greater.
Spectrum View Animation
There are new controls for the Satellite Spectrum view to help increase response
time when displaying this window while remote accessing. The animation of
carriers typically requires increased bandwidth on the remote connection to the
VMS server, which could cause a slower response time in ViperView. The
operator now has the ability to adjust the refresh rate of the RF display—setting
it to Fast, Slow, or Off—so that this effect is minimized. An Automatic setting
option disables animation during Remote Desktop (RDP) connections and
provides Fast refresh for direct ViperView access.
