Adding a CTOG-250 to an Existing (Previously Deployed) CDM-800

Step Task

1

Remove all Ethernet cables from the existing CDM-800. Move the traffic Ethernet cables from the CDM-

800 to the ‘LAN TRAFFIC (1)’ and (if necessary) ‘LAN Traffic (2)’ ports on the CTOG-250.

2

Assign a M anagement I P A ddress to t he C TOG-250 t hat i s on the ex isting C DM-800’s m anagement

network.

3

Verify that the CTOG-250 is on the same network and cabled correctly by issuing a ping from the User PC

to the CTOG-250.

4

Connect a CAT5 Ethernet cable from the ‘WAN’ port on the CTOG-250 chassis back panel to the ‘GE1

port on the CDM-800 rear panel.

5

Upon power-up and bootup of the CTOG-250 system, the CTOG-250 checks the firmware version of the

CDM-800. I f t he v ersion i s not correct, t he C TOG-250 upgr ades t he C DM-800’s f irmware, and t hen

performs a reboot of the CDM-800 to load the new firmware.

6

Upload t he ex isting C DM-800’s c onfiguration t o t he C TOG-250 v ia t he [Sync Configuration From

CDM-800] button on the CTOG-250 Web Server Interface Utility | CTOG-250 Unit page.

Chapter 7.ETHERNET-BASED REMOTE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

7

Ping the CDM840’s traffic IP. If the ping is unsucessful, check all cables and r outing information and try

again.
