Chapter 5. FAST ACTIVATION PROCEDURE
The CDM-800 Gateway Router has a number of optional features that may be activated after
purchase via the CTOG-250 host interface. Fully Accessible System Topology (FAST) Access
Codes are unique authorization codes that may be purchased from Comtech EF Data during
normal business hours. Once purchased, the code is then loaded into the CDM-800 unit using
this page.

FAST Configuration
1. Tx Header and Payload Compression are standard (non-FAST) operational features for
Comtech EF Data’s Advanced VSAT Series group of products. If these features are
listed in the FAST Configuration table, they are always indicated as Enabled.
2. PTP is not available in this firmware release. Once operable, this protocol will be used
to synchronize clocks throughout a computer network. When the hardware required
for this option is not installed in the CDM-800, the web page will display the message
“PTP not supported with installed hardware”.
The read-only table in this section displays the CDM-800 available FAST Features and the
operational status for each option. The Option column identifies the available FAST Feature,
while the Status column identifies each FAST Feature operational parameter(s). If an option is
not enabled, the column displays this information.
