Truncation Calculator

This pop-up window is only available from Traffic Analyzer - Capture tab.

Allows to easily determine at what byte to truncate the frame that will be
captured by selecting the desired frame header components.

Header Layer: Select the header layer level. Choices are
Layer 2 (Ethernet), Layer 3 (IP), and Layer 4 (TCP/UDP).

IP Version: Select the IP version. Choices are IPv4 and IPv6.

Encapsulation:

VLAN: Optionally, select the VLAN check box and select the
number of VLAN (1 to 3 VLAN).

MPLS: Optionally, select the MPLS check box and select the
number of labels (1 or 2 labels).

PBB-TE: Optionally, select PBB-TE check box.

Additional Payload (bytes): Optionally, select the number of
additional payload bytes (1 to 900 bytes).

Total Number of Bytes: Indicates the number of bytes for the selected
frame parameters. This value will be used as the truncated frame
length; refer to Frame Length on page 225.
