IP ROUTE

Syntax

ip route (GATEWAYIP|INTERFACE)

no ip route (GATEWAYIP|INTERFACE)

Parameters

GATEWAYIP

Indicates the IPV4 address and subnet mask of the
gateway device in the following format:

000.000.000/0

INTERFACE

Specifies a the name of the interface (in the range of
ge1 through ge28) that connects your device to the
network.

Description

Use the IP ROUTE command to add a gateway address to the switch. Use
the no form of this command to remove the static route from the switch.

Command Mode

Configuration Terminal mode

Examples

The following example sets the gateway IP address to 0.0.0.0 and a
subnet mask of 0:

switch#configure terminal

switch(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0/0
