Collecting maintenance data
The Data Collection option enables you to collect maintenance data that can help support
personnel diagnose system problems. Save this data to a zip file on a CD (or other medium with
the appropriate capacity), and forward it to technical support personnel.
NOTE:
If the Full Volatility feature has been enabled through the switch's maintenance port, a
memory dump file will not be included with the data collection.
To use this option, follow the detailed steps in the appropriate service manual for your Edge
Switch.
Executing an IPL
CAUTION:
The Ethernet connection between the HAFM appliance and switch is interrupted
momentarily during an initial program load (IPL). However, this does not interrupt Fibre Channel
traffic.
