Workpiece center as datum
With the function PROBING CENTER, you can find the center of
square or rectangular workpieces and set the datum at that point. The
workpiece must be aligned paraxially to use this function.

Select the probing function by pressing the PROBING
CENTER soft key.

Move the probing electrode to a position near the first
touch point.

Select the probing direction via soft key, e.g. X+.

To probe the workpiece, press the machine START
button.

Move the probing electrode to a position near the
second touch point.

To probe the workpiece, press the machine START
button.

Enter the first coordinate of the datum, for example on
the X axis.

Repeat the process for the third and fourth touch
points on the second axis, for example on the Y axis.

Enter the second coordinate of the datum, for
example on the Y axis.

End the probing function.
