Configuring SNMP basic parameters

SNMPv3 differs from SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c in many ways. Their configuration procedures are
described in separate sections.
In FIPS mode, SNMPv3 must be used.

You can also enable the SNMP
agent by using any command that

begins with snmp-agent except the

Configure SNMP agent
system information.

sys-contact | location sys-location

Optional.
The defaults are as follows:

Contact—Hangzhou H3C

Technologies Co., Ltd.

Location—Hangzhou China.

Version—SNMPv3.

4.

Configure a local engine ID
for an SNMP entity.

snmp-agent local-engineid

Optional.
The default local engine ID is the
company ID plus the device ID.
After you change the local engine
ID, the existing SNMPv3 users

become invalid, and you must
re-create the SNMPv3 users.

5.

Create or update a MIB view.

snmp-agent mib-view { excluded |
included } view-name oid-tree

Optional.
By default, the MIB view
ViewDefault is predefined and its

OID is 1.

Configure an SNMPv3 group.
