Configuration procedure

1.

Set the IP address for each interface as shown in

Figure 53

. (Details not shown.)

2.

Configure SecPath C:
# Specify the local clock as the reference source, with the stratum level of 2.

system-view

[SecPathC] ntp-service refclock-master 2

# Configure SecPath C to operate in multicast server mode and send multicast messages through
GigabitEthernet 0/1.

[SecPathC] interface GigabitEthernet 1/1

[SecPathC-GigabitEthernet0/1] ntp-service multicast-server

3.

Configure SecPath D:
# Configure SecPath D to operate in multicast client mode and receive multicast messages on
GigabitEthernet 0/1.

system-view

[SecPathD] interface GigabitEthernet 0/1

[SecPathD-GigabitEthernet0/1] ntp-service multicast-client

Because SecPath D and SecPath C are on the same subnet, SecPath D can receive the multicast
messages from SecPath C without being enabled with the multicast functions and can be

synchronized to SecPath C.
# View the NTP status of SecPath D after clock synchronization.

[SecPathD-GigabitEthernet0/1] display ntp-service status
