If Account ID is enabled in the driver, HP Access Control (HP AC) Job Accounting can report the account ID as
the User name. By default, the login name is reported.
6.7 SAP tracking
SAP must be configured to report the user name in the job name (consult SAP for more details on how to
configure SAP queues).
To access the SAP user name tracking parameters, click SAP tracking on the HP Access Control (HP AC) Job
Accounting print server Administration page.

If Yes is selected from the Enabled drop-down list, HP Access Control (HP AC) Job Accounting will search for
the user name in the job name for all jobs printed by the SAP user name that is defined (the default user
name is SYSTEM).
HP Access Control (HP AC) Job Accounting will extract the user name at the selection position and extract only
the number of characters selected.
If default parameters are used for all jobs printed by the user SYSTEM, HP Access Control (HP AC) Job
Accounting extracts 8 characters from the job name, starting at position “8” — and uses this as the user
name for the job.
Example: If the job name is “Job_abc_USER1234_xyz” and is printed by user SYSTEM, HP Access Control (HP
AC) Job Accounting will report this job printed by user USER1234.
6.8 Direct Tracking Module (DTM)
The Direct Tracking Module (DTM) is another method of capturing data directly from a network printer and
functions even if the HP Access Control (HP AC) Job Accounting print server module is not installed.
In order for the DTM to work, ALL of the following conditions MUST be met:
● Printer must be manufactured by Hewlett Packard.
● JetDirect should be installed and connected directly to the network (not locally through USB or LPT1).
