19 External reports
Select External report management on the Remote Control to set up the HP Access Control (HP AC) Job
Accounting report server for external reporting functions. Use External Reporting to create and distribute
reports with the following useful features:
● Schedule off-line execution of reports to minimize processing time.
● Maintain a history of executed reports (useful when existing data is changed frequently).
NOTE: A working knowledge of SQL Reporting Services is required to use the External Reporting functions.
19.1 Report activities
The External Reporting process is comprised of three activities:
Report Authoring
The process of defining the report parameters, properties, style, and user interactivity.
Report Management
The administration of the published report.
Report Delivery
Delivering reports to end-users.
The actions required to set up the report server in HP Access Control (HP AC) Job Accounting are:
1. Set up and validate Source, Model, and Report folders.
2. Create and validate a data source.
3. Upload a model.
4. Assign a data source to the model and validate.
5. Upload a report.
6. Assign a model to the report and validate.
NOTE: The actions above must be performed in the listed sequence to correctly configure the report server.
19.2 External report management
Four management functions are available on the External report management screen:

● Manage data sources
