Setting the display modes of the axes
The DISPLAY MODE soft key enables you to scroll through the
available display modes.
Press the SOFTKEY X1/X2 soft key to change the state of the
respective display mode from VISIBLE to HIDDEN, and vice versa.
In the HIDDEN state the respective display mode can no longer be
set with SOFTKEY X1 [X2] on the standard screen.
Press the ENTER key to confirm your settings, or press the C key to
cancel.
Formula for coupled position
In this form, you can enter a formula for coupling the two axes. The
following mathematical operations, symbols and variables are
available:
Basic arithmetic: Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Parentheses
Trigonometric functions: Sine, cosine, tangent, arc sine, arc cosine
and arc tangent
Circle constant pi
Axis variables X1 and X2
Enter the desired formula.
If you want to delete a character you have entered, press the DOWN
arrow key.
After you have confirmed your entries by pressing ENTER, the
ND 287 checks the formula for syntax errors, and displays an error
message if the formula is not correct.

The ND 287 checks whether all required operators
(e.g. 3X1 must be entered as 3*X1) have been entered,
and whether opening parentheses are followed by
closing parentheses
.
Axis values that are used as divisors may cause a
division-by-zero
or display-overflow problem. The
ND 287 prevents these errors by displaying the Display
overflow
message. After you have removed the
affected axis from the range about zero, the ND 287 will
display a correct numerical value again.
The ND 287 cannot check whether the entered formula
is going to produce a meaningful result for you. It is
your responsibility to check this.
