Select the first soft-key page of the standard screen.
Press the START SPC soft key to start the SPC function. If the
START MEAS. SERIES soft key is displayed on the screen, press the
MEAS. SERIES [SPC] soft key to open the SERIES OF
MEASUREMENTS menu, and then press the MEAS. SERIES [SPC]
soft key to switch to the SPC mode (see "Switching between series
of measurements and SPC mode" on page 42). The sample counter
x y/z
is shown on the left side of the message line, e.g. 1/5 51. x
is the number of the measurement that is currently being performed
for the current sample (the total number of measurements to be
performed for each sample is indicated in DATA PER SAMPLE), y is
the number of measured values per sample (indicated in DATA PER
SAMPLE), and z is the total number of measurements that have
been recorded so far (maximum of z = product of x multiplied by y).
You can switch to an analysis of the current SPC at any time by
pressing the SPC ANALYSIS soft key in order to analyze the
measured values recorded so far (see "SPC analysis" on page 49).
Press the DELETE MEAS. VALUE soft key to delete the measured
value that was last recorded. Press the ENTER key to confirm, or
press the C key to cancel.
You can stop the current statistical process control at any time by
pressing the STOP SPC key, and you can restart it at a later time.
All parameters required for statistical process control and the
possibility of analyzing a previously recorded SPC are provided by the
SPC menu.

The ND 287 generates a message once the complete
number of samples entered has been reached for the first
time. If you continue recording measured values, the
measured values of the oldest samples will be
overwritten (FIFO principle).
