Enabling iTX v2 to use the assets in an iTX v1 system
Set up the Media Watcher for multi-domain operation
Do the following for the iTX v2 system.
1.
Under the Setup tab of the Media Watcher service window, add the Media folder in the iTX
v1 system as a file store of the search type.
In setting the file store options, select Search for Omnibus '_OMN' files.
You may select Copy media to central store if you want the Media Watcher to copy media
files from the iTX v1 system to the Media Store in the iTX v2 system and register them as
assets in the iTX v2 system.
2.
Under the Domains tab, add the iTX v1 domain to the central domain search list.
3.
Save the configuration.
Running the new services
Starting the Server Controller on the same machine starts the OPUS 2 iTX Bridge and Text
Search Index Services.
The first time it runs, the Text Indexer Service creates an index of the assets in the iTX v1
system. The length of time this takes depends on the number of assets and the technical
specification of the machine on which the service is running. On a low-specification machine
with a high number of clips, this may take several hours.
Checking the interaction of the two systems
1.
At an iTX Desktop in the iTX v2 system, open PinPoint and search for an asset in the iTX v1
system.
You may need to refresh the domains list in the PinPoint dialog.
2.
Check you can load the asset on the iTX Desktop.
