Overview
This chapter describes the general setup of the CDM-600L Open Network Satellite Modem in
Digital Satellite Terminal (DST) using the front panel keys. Operation of the modem is otherwise
the same as specified throughout the remainder of this manual.
H.2
Initial Operation
CAUTION
Careful setup is necessary to prevent damage to electronic components.
Replacement of a component(s) may be the result.
DC voltages for BUC or LNB power may be present at the modem transmit and
receive IF connectors. Protect spectrum analyzers and other equipment
sensitive to DC voltage with a DC block, such as Weinschel Model 7003, to
prevent accidental damage.

Prior to Turning On Power
Note: Ensure DST system is installed properly and all connections all secure, with the exception
of the L-Band Tx and RX IF connectors, which are initially disconnected.
