F.3.4.2 ODU: BUC-CONFIG
BUC: POWER=OFF 10MHz=OFF ALARM-LOW=0.0A
ALARM-HIGH=2.0A CAR-DELAY=00:00 MIN:SEC
Select a parameter to edit – POWER, 10MHz, ALARM-LOW, ALARM-HIGH, or
CAR-DELAY MIN:SEC – using the [
←][→] arrow keys, then use the [↑][↓] arrows keys to edit
the settings for that parameter. Press [ENT] when done. Observe the following:
POWER
To control BUC operation, use the [
↑] [↓] arrow keys to select power as ON or OFF,
then press [ENT] when done.
10 MHz
To control the 10MHz Reference output to the BUC, use the [
↑] [↓] arrow keys to
select the 10MHz Reference output as ON or OFF, then press [ENT] when done.
ALARM-LOW
To set the BUC low current alarm threshold, use the [
↑] [↓] arrow keys to set the
threshold (in amps), then press [ENT] when done.
ALARM-HIGH
To set the BUC high current alarm threshold, use the [
↑] [↓] arrow keys to set the
threshold (in amps), then press [ENT] when done.
CAR-DELAY
MIN:SEC
This sets a carrier ‘on’ time delay from modem power-up to TX carrier output turn-on,
allowing the BUC to warm up for stable operating frequency or output power prior to
transmitting a carrier.
To set the carrier ‘on’ time delay, use the [
←] [→] arrows keys to select a digit to
edit, then the [
↑] [↓] arrow keys to adjust the value of that digit (typical for the MIN
and SEC values). Press [ENT] when done.
If a nonzero carrier ‘on’ time delay value is assigned, this menu also shows the time
remaining for the output delay countdown. When the cursor is not on the CAR-
DELAY field, the timer resumes countdown and indicates this on the front panel by a
flashing TX LED.
F.3.4.3 ODU: BUC-LO
BUC-LO: FREQUENCY = 00000 MHz
MIX = HIGH (-)FSK: LINK =OFF
Select Frequency or Mix using the [
←][→] arrow keys, then press [ENT] to continue. Observe the
following:
FREQUENCY
To set the lockout frequency in the BUC for the up conversion, use the [
←] [→]
arrows keys to select a digit to edit, then the [
↑] [↓] arrow keys to adjust the value of
that digit. Press [ENT] when done.
Note that entering a nonzero value for the BUC lockout frequency will cause the TX
IF frequency programming under CONFIG: TX: TX-IF to be entered and displayed as
the actual TX frequency for the satellite terminal.
MIX
To set the polarity for the upconversion mix in the BUC, use the [
↑] [↓] arrow keys to
select HIGH (-) for high side inverting mix, or LOW (+) for low side noninverting mix.
Press [ENT] when done.
FSK: LINK
This read-only parameter displays the FSK communications setting established (ON
or OFF) via the ODU: BUC-FSK
Æ LINK menu.
