The HP 48 lets you to do binary arithmetic—operations that work
with binary integers.
Binary Integers and Bases
On the HP 48, binary integer objects contain from 1 to 64 bits,
depending on the current
wordstze.
You can enter and display binary
integers in decimal (base
10
), hexadecimal (base 16), octal (base
8
), or
binary (base 2). The
current base
determines which base is used to
display binary integers on the stack.
The # delimiter precedes a binary integer. A d, h, o, or b following
the binary integer indicates its base—for example, # 182d, # B
6
h,
# 26bo, or #
1 0 1 1 0 1 1 0
b.
