The HP iPAQ hx2000 Pocket PC series delivers
performance and security in a range of feature-packed
configurations to suit the needs and budget of today’s
mobile professionals. These simple, yet flexible
handheld devices feature Microsoft® Windows
Mobile™ 5.0 and offer a choice of storage capacity,
security solutions and battery size as well as
cross-platform compatible accessories.
Easier than ever to use
The Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system
enables increased productivity when working away
from the desktop, turning almost anywhere into a
mobile office. Improved efficiency means longer battery
life and persistent storage helps prevent loss of data
even when battery power is lost.
Enhanced security for device and wireless connection
A biometric fingerprint reader helps protect information
on your Pocket PC by allowing you to authenticate
yourself to the device using your unique fingerprint, or a
combination of a PIN and/or fingerprint (hx2790 only).
Data encryption from HP ProtectTools secured by
CREDANT® Technologies provides enhanced
protection for both data and device. This series offers
full Microsoft operating system functionality for VPN
and WEP security offering added protection when
accessing information remotely such as the Internet and
e-mail.
Advanced wireless capabilities in and out of the office
Integrated Wi-Fi, (hx2490, hx2790 only) enables
high-speed wireless access to corporate networks.
Integrated Bluetooth® wireless technology simplifies
communication between Bluetooth enabled personal
devices, and IrDA fast infrared provides a fast (up to
4Mbps), cable free method of moving data via
infrared.
Mobilise your digital music, videos and photos
Windows Mobile Version 5.0 adds support for USB 2.0
and enables improved media content organisation
creating an amazing platform for multimedia devices.
Users can easily synchronise media files from Windows
Media Player 10 Mobile to their desktop PC and listen
to them on their Pocket PC. Windows Media Player 10
Mobile supports a variety of file formats including
WMA, WMV and MP3.
