Shut down the system and disconnect it from the voltage supply.

Pull off all wired terminal strips (A) toward the front.

Push in the grooved surfaces at the top and bottom of the module insert (D) and remove
the module insert from the case (E).

Remove the cover plate (C) of the relevant expansion slot (illustrated here for slot 1).

Select the expansion slot: slot 1 (F), slot 2 (G), or slot 3 (H). The diagram shows the expan-
sion slots with modules already fitted.

Align the module (as shown in the diagram) and insert it carefully into the guide rails inside
the case (E) until the connector engages.

Activity

Hold the module insert (D) at the grooved surfaces on the top and bottom and insert the
module insert into the case (E). When doing so, ensure that the board of the module insert
slides into the guide rails of the case. Also ensure that the board of the retrofitted module
slides into the guide rail of the module insert (D).
