Encapsulation You must choose the Ethernet option when the WAN port is used as a regular
Ethernet. Otherwise, choose PPPoE or PPTP for a dial-up connection.
WAN IP Address
Assignment
IP Address
Assignment Select Dynamic If your ISP did not assign you a fixed IP address. This is the
default selection.
Select Static If the ISP assigned a fixed IP address.
The fields below are available only when you select Static.
My WAN IP
Address Enter your WAN IP address in this field.
My WAN IP
Subnet Mask Enter the IP subnet mask in this field.
Gateway IP
Address Enter the gateway IP address in this field.
First DNS Server
Second DNS
Server
Enter the DNS server's IP address(es) in the field(s) to the right.
Leave the field as 0.0.0.0 if you do not want to configure DNS servers. If you do not
configure a DNS server, you must know the IP address of a machine in order to
access it.
