5.8 Setting the Scan Options

■ In [Black & White] mode
The following items can be set.
 Character Thickness
Modify the font or line weight.
 Character Augmentation
Perform character augmentation.
 Noise Removal
Remove noise (dot-shaped unwanted data in the background).
 Background Pattern Removal
Remove characters or patterns printed in the background.
 White Level Follower
Control the threshold value so that the background will be recognized to be white.
1. Select [Cleanup (Black & White)] under [Image Correction] on the scan
settings window.
 The [Cleanup (Black & White)] window appears.
2. Specify each item.
3. Press the [OK] button.
 The information entered is set.
