Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
This section has commonly asked questions and answers, all pertaining to
the Trinix Multiviewer.
Why is the TMV board taking so long to start?
Make sure that both the FAC and CNTL LANs are connected. The TMV
system gathers the required information at start up. The TMV will try to
connect to this LAN until it times out if a LAN is not connected.
Why do two identical tiles on the same line appear to be offset?
When aligning items there may be a minor offset. For height, the item may
be off 1 pixel. For width, the item may be off 2 pixels. This offset is due to
the application rounding location data and aligning to the next even pixel.
Why do I need to reconnect to the TMV boards after my laptop hibernates?
Hibernation is a state in which your computer shuts down to save power.
You may have a setting that disables the network card on your laptop when
hibernating.
What is the delay of the video on each tile?
The delay is between zero and one frame period of the input video format.
What is the delay if a screen uses two multiviewer cards?
When cascading, there is an additional delay that is approximately 800
pixel periods when on the same board. When cascading across boards the
additional delay is up to 3200 pixel periods, or about 1.5 1080i/59.94 line
periods.
With careful control of the frame positions of the input video streams with
respect to the reference signal provided to the TMV boards, the electrical
length of a cascade structure can be kept under one frame period.
After losing sync and then reconnecting, the output flashed green. Is that
Normal?
Yes, a Sync reference is required; the green flash indicates something is
wrong. This issue may also occur if you switch between sync standards. To
resolve this issue, re-publish the configuration or use the Update config
command after using Telnet to connect to the board.
