Factory Mode

A TMV board will try to boot in Factory mode if the Application mode fails
to launch. The Factory Mode software is used to download new Applica-
tion software.

Note

Application software can be downloaded and installed using NetConfig in
either Factory Mode or Application Mode.

TMV Communications Service

Restart the TMV Communications service or PC when Network problems
occur or if a board heartbeat stops.

Windows service applications provide Start, Stop, Pause, and Restart fea-
tures for, Web servers, database servers, and other server-based applica-
tions to both local and network users. The TMV Communication service
uses these features. Close all TMV applications when you do so.

See Checking the TMV Service

on page 196

, for more information.

The Display is not Showing What is Expected

If the monitor is showing something other than the source that was
selected, you may have an indexing problem.

The Indexing will be off if the Source or Destination order has changed in
the Router Control application.

The solution to this problem is to:

Re-order the Source or Destination tables.

Retrieve the Configuration file

Make the change in the Configuration Editor and then re-publish the
file.

To avoid this problem, Grass Valley recommends adding information to the
end of the Source or Destination tables.

Blue

When the TMV board has booted successfully CM1 is off, CM0 is on,
and 0, 1, 2, 3 blink together, once per second.
The blinking means the corresponding MV FPGA is receiving time
messages from the COMM FPGA. Since all FPGAs receive the same
message, all the blue LEDs should blink together.
