Using Files from Removable Media
NewsEdit XT can import and use files from two types of removable
media—Panasonic P2 cards and Sony XDCam Professional Disks. Media on
these cards is stored in MXF and metadata files.
P2 and XDCam removable media can be accessed by using an internal drive on
your PC or an external drive connected via USB (for P2) or 1394 (for XDCam).
NOTE: You need to have the removable media mounted or inserted
into the drive in order to see it in NewsEdit.
To import files into NewsEdit:
1. Make sure you have the P2 or XDCam driver installed on your NewsEdit
machine.
The drivers are located on the NewsroomSuite CD-ROM.
2. Insert the P2 or XDCam removable media into the drive.
3. In NewsEdit, select
View | Removable Media Bin
.
The Bin opens and operates the same as the NewsEdit Bin:
View as Tape
