Adding Audio Narration
With NewsEdit, you can record and insert narration in your sequences by
recording directly to the Timeline.
Before you can record a narration, you need to create a microphone source in
NewsEdit. See “Adding Video Sources to NewsEdit” on page 310 for
instructions.
To add narration to the Timeline:
1. Open the sequence where you want to add the narration.
2. Select the Source Tool by pressing
2
on your keyboard or clicking the
Source Tool
button in the Timeline Toolbar.
3. If necessary, adjust the input levels to prevent overload at the input stage of
the source microphone.
4. Mark an In and Out point in your sequence where you want the voiceover to
record.
5. If you want to continually record over the same point until you are satisfied
with the performance, click the
Loop Record
button to enable it.
6. If you want the system to display the remaining duration of the record, press
the
Record Countdown
button.
