description of each video effect and its properties, see Appendix B.
Name
Description
Resize
Enlarges the image using one video track or creates a Picture-in-Picture
effect using two video tracks.
Key Shape
Gives a specific shape to a video image or applies an effect to a part of a
video image. Used primarily in conjunction with other video effects, a key
shape defines an area within an image that you can fill with other effects.
Blur
Distorts an image beyond recognition. Often used in conjunction with a
Key Shape effect to disguise a person’s identity.
Mosaic
Distorts an image beyond recognition. Often used on an entire image or in
conjunction with a Key Shape effect to disguise a person’s identity.
Color Effect
Overlays a selected color over the video with variable opacity. Used either
for an entire image or in conjunction with the Key Shape effect. Used
primarily for color flashes, dips or fades to color, color tints, etc.
Proc Amp
Adjusts an image’s video levels. Provides options for altering the image
gain, chroma, setup and hue; a Key Shape effect; or a Resize effect.
Color Correct
Adjusts the color levels in a video image; adjust the white and black
balance, gamma balance, and white clip.
Mirror Vertical
Flips an image vertically.
Mirror Horizontal
Flips an image horizontally.
Luma Key
Keying inserts part of one picture into another to create a composite
picture. Luma Key uses the color brightness of an incoming source to
specify where to cut the hole in the background.
Chroma Key
(NewsEdit XT only) Detects color (rather than luminance) in a video
image and replaces it with a new background.
Warp
(NewsEdit XT only) Twists and turns the image in the direction and shape
selected.
