Selecting Your Source
You can select your input source from the equipment your newsroom has set up
for you. Sources can include tape decks, feeds, or routers.
NOTE: If you are using NewsEdit SCE, you can only use a clip
source; no video sources are available.
1. Press
2
to select the Source Tool.
2. Select a source from the drop-down menu.
The image in the viewing monitor changes to reflect the new source.
Using a Clip Source
You can load any clip from your Bin into the Source Tool, which effectively
treats the clip like a live source such as a tape deck.
To use a clip as a clip source, drag the clip into the viewer or press
Shift + C
to
load the clip. After loading a clip as a clip source, you can edit to the Timeline
as you would with a tape deck.
Patching Audio Tracks
If you select a clip for a clip source with more audio tracks than the Timeline,
the Select Source Channel window appears and you can route the tracks.
