Section II: Advanced Operations
Downloading a System File
This section contains the procedures for downloading a system file from a
workstation or TFTP server into the switch’s file system. You can
download any of the following files:
Boot configuration file
Public encryption key
CA certificate
Note
The CA certificate and key file are supported only on the version of
AT-S63 management software that features SSL, PKI, and SSH
security.
This section contains the following two procedures:
“Downloading a System File from a Local Management Session” on
page 217
“Downloading a System File from a Telnet Management Session” on
page 220
Please note the following before you begin either procedure:
Caution
Do not use this procedure to download an AT-S63 image file onto a
switch. Doing so stores the image file in the switch’s file system. The
switch will not be able to use the image file and the file will take up
most of the available space in the file system. To download an
AT-S63 image file onto a switch, see “Downloading the AT-S63
Image File onto a Switch” on page 206 or “Downloading an AT-S63
Image File Switch to Switch” on page 212.
You can download a system file from either a local or Telnet
management session. You cannot perform this procedure from a web
browser management session.
You can use either Xmodem or TFTP to download a system file from a
local management session.
You must use TFTP to download a system file from a Telnet
management session.
To use TFTP, there must be a node on your network that contains
TFTP server software.
If you are using TFTP, you should start the TFTP server before you
begin the download procedure.
