17. Park lock brake fails to set.

1. Defective solenoids and/or

valves.

2. Defective switch.

3. Defective or weak springs in

park lock assembly of front axle.

1. Refer to the appropriate

electrical schematic in Section
10 Electrical System
. Check
and/or replace solenoids and
valves.

2. Check electrical schematic

(Section 10) and test electrical
circuit and switch. Repair wiring
or replace switch as required.

3. Repair park lock assembly per

manufacturer’s information and
specifications (refer to Section 5
Axles, Wheels and Tires
).

18. Power steering fails com-

pletely.

1. Ruptured hydraulic hose.

2. Faulty steering unit.

3. Insufficient (low) hydraulic

pressure.

4. Unloader valve malfunction.

1. Replace hose.

2. Replace steering unit.

3. Troubleshoot and correct cause

of low pressure. Adjust steering
relief valve.

4. Check and replace as required.

19. No four-wheel or crab

steering, or steering mode
change does not occur.

1. Defective solenoid in steer select

valve.

2. Faulty steer select switch or

wiring.

3. Broken spring in steer select

valve.

1. Repair steer select valve.

2. Repair or replace steer select

switch or wiring.

3. Replace steer select valve.

20. Steering slow or sluggish.

1. Steer relief valve not set

correctly.

2. Defective steer relief valve.

3. Steering cylinder leakage.

4. Unloader valve malfunction.

1. Check and set relief valve to

proper specification.

2. Install new cartridge or replace

valve.

3. Repair or replace steering

cylinder. Refer to
manufacturer’s information and
specifications (see Section 5
Axles, Wheels and Tires
).

4. Check and replace as required.

21. Front or rear wheels not

parallel in two-wheel or
four-wheel steering mode.

1. Wheels not properly indexed.

2. Wheel misalignment.

3. Internal steering unit leakage.

4. Defective steer select valve.

1. Index wheels per procedure in

Owners/Operators Manual.

2. Check and adjust wheels

properly per manufacturer’s
information and specifications
(see Section 5 Axles, Wheels
and Tires
).

3. Replace steering unit.

4. Check and repair or replace

steer select valve.
