Deleting a Port Trunk

Caution

Disconnect the cables from the port trunk on the switch before
performing the following procedure. Deleting a port trunk without
first disconnecting the cables can create loops in your network
topology. Data loops can result in broadcast storms and poor
network performance.

To delete a port trunk from the switch, perform the following procedure:

1. From the Main Menu, type 1 to select Ports Menu.

2. From the Ports Menu, type 3 to select Port Trunking.

The Port Trunking menu in Figure 25 on page 79 is displayed.

3. From the Port Trunking menu, type M if you wish to select a module

other than the one currently displayed.

The prompt message is displayed:

Select Module ID: [1 to 8] ->

4. Enter the ID of the module you wish to select, and press the Enter key.

5. From the Port Trunking menu, type 5 to select Delete trunk.

The following prompt is displayed.

Enter Trunk Number -> [1 to 6] ->

6. Enter the number of the trunk you wish to delete.

The following prompt is displayed.

Are you sure you want to delete the trunk (Y/N) ->

7. Type Y for Yes to delete the port trunk or N for No to cancel this

procedure.

If Y is selected, the port trunk is now deleted from the switch.

8. Type S to select Save Configuration changes.
