Example
For Synchronous Long Distance Remote Copy set ups, there are three common failover
scenarios where the primary server fails and one of the backup servers assumes the role of the
primary server until the original primary server is brought back online. These scenarios are as
follows:

The primary server goes down and the synchronous backup server assumes the role of the
primary server. See

The primary server goes down and the asynchronous periodic backup server assumes the
role of the primary server after data has been transferred from the synchronous backup
