6.6.1.2. Checking the LED lit in red

Check the LED lit in red, following the procedure shown below.

Error status: Received wave is abnormal
o Received wave fluctuates, noise
Cause and remedy:

Bubbles or foreign objects included in the fluid
Ÿ Stop the flow, and if the measurement is found to be

normal, there is great possibility that air bubbles are
contained. Remove bubbles in such cases.

Noise
Ÿ Check ultrasonic signals for existence of noise using

an oscilloscope.
Remove noise if found by performing grounding, etc.
See “6.6.6.Checking received waveforms”.

LED lit in red

Check the RAS information

The 2nd or 3rd from
the left is 1.

Error status: No waves are received. Waves are being searched.

Cause and remedy:

Transmission error due to scale or rust within piping
Ÿ Move the mounting position of the detector.
Break of signal cable Ÿ Repair or replace the signal cable.
Detector mounting failure Ÿ Remount the detector.
Transmitter circuit failure or detector failure
Ÿ See “6.6.7. Remedying a hardware fault”

Error status: Device error, Ultrasonic send/receive signals cannot be

collected.

Cause and remedy:

Abnormality of measuring circuit
Ÿ Turn the power OFF then ON again.

If the instrument does not recover, transmitter circuit is failure.

Ÿ See “6.6.7. Remedying a hardware fault”.

Error status:

Signal error o Weak receiving waveform, Signal

configuration error

Signal range over

o Signal position is abnormal.

Cause and remedy:

Detector mounting failure Ÿ Remount the detector.
Incorrect detector selection
Ÿ Change the setting for the detector selection, and

remount the detector.

Transmission error due to scale or rust within piping
Ÿ Move the mounting position of the detector.
Incorrect piping data input
Ÿ Enter the correct data, and remount the detector.

Cause and remedy:
LED failure Ÿ See “6.6.1.1.Checking the LCD/LED”

and “6.6.7.Remedying a hardware
fault”.
