Troubleshooting
Song does not play correctly
Song won’t play
Could the screen be indicating “OK to delete Song? Are you sure?”
You can’t play back an internal song if internal memory contains
performance data you recorded. Erase the performance data you
recorded before you play back the song.
Is Panel Lock activated?
Hold down the [INPUT] button and press the [GUIDE] button to turn off
the Panel Lock function.
Can’t play back an internal
song
Could you have pressed the remote [MUTE] button to mute the sound?
Press the remote [MUTE] button to cancel muting.
Only the sound of a particular
instrument in a song does not
play
Could the Part Mute setting be active?
Muted parts will not be heard.
Can’t fast-forward or rewind
by pressing the
[
]

] button
You can’t rewind or fast-forward while loading music files or while
generating a notation. Please wait.

If you play back data containing performance data that exceeds the
VIMA’s storage capacity, there may be cases in which you will be unable
to perform operations other than playback (e.g., fast-forward or rewind).

Songs in USB memory are not
played immediately
SMF music files comes in two types; Formats 0 and 1. In the case of format
1 data, it may take a certain amount of time for playback to begin.
The format type is indicated on the booklet for the music files you’re
using.

Song tempo becomes
unstable
When playing a song from USB memory or CD-ROM, the tempo may
become unstable if there is an excessive amount of performance data.

Can’t play an audio/MP3
format song
Is the song in a format that the RK-300 is able to play?
For details on audio/MP3 formats, refer to “Types of Audio/MP3 files that
the RK-300 can play.”
A music CD song or audio/
MP3 format song does not
play correctly
Is the Audio Play Level set correctly?
Is the CD/Audio Type set correctly?
Song name in USB memory or
CD-ROM is not shown
Does the file contain song information (Sequence/Track Name Meta
Event)? The song name will not be shown if the song information in the
file is empty or consists only of spaces.

Is the filename eight or fewer characters?
If the filename is longer than eight characters, the file cannot be correctly
handled as song data.

Is the filename extension “MID”?
Files with other filename extensions cannot be handled as song data.

Song titles on a music CD are
not shown
Song titles from a music CD cannot be displayed.

Song volume is low
Could the [BALANCE] knob be set all the way toward “KEYBOARD”?
