This setting specifies the MIDI channel on which the RK-300
will transmit.
MIDI uses sixteen “MIDI channels,” which are numbered 1
through 16. By connecting MIDI devices and specifying the
appropriate MIDI channel for each device, you can play or
select sounds on those devices.
The RK-300 will receive all sixteen channels (1–16).
•
For details on connecting MIDI devices, refer to
“Connecting MIDI Equipment” (p. 198).
When you have a MIDI sequencer connected, set this
parameter to Local Off. Most conventional sequencers have
the Thru function set to On, so as seen in the figure, when
information describing what has been played on the
keyboard (1) arrives at the sound generator via two separate
routes (2), notes could be sounded twice or sometimes get
cut off. To prevent this, the setting called “Local Off” is used
to disconnect the route in (1).

The keyboard and the internal sound generator are in a
linked state.
