Troubleshooting
Unable to read from/write to
USB memory
Are you using (optional) Roland USB memory?
Reliable performance cannot be guaranteed if you use non-Roland USB
memory products.

If you‘re unable to read/write USB memory, try switching modes.
User Memory: User Memory Mode
External Memory: Ext, Memory Mode
“Buzz” is heard from external
devices
Are the external devices connected to more than one AC power outlet?
If you connect external devices, be sure to connect them to the same AC
outlet.

The sound contains noise
If there is a cell phone nearby, the RK-300 may produce noise when you
initiate or receive a call, or while you converse.

No sound
No sound
Could the RK-300’s volume or the volume of the connected equipment
be turned down?
Could headphones be connected?
Could there be a plug inserted in a headphone jack?
The speakers will not produce sound if headphones or plug are
connected to the headphone jacks.
Could the [BALANCE] knob be set all the way toward “KEYBOARD” or
“SONG”?
Is the speaker cable connected correctly?
Could the remote VOLUME [-] [+] buttons or the [MUTE] button be
pressed to set the volume to “0”?
Even if the [VOLUME] knob is raised, there will be no sound if the remote
VOLUME [-] [+] buttons or the [MUTE] button have been pressed to set
the volume to “0.”
Is Local Off set to Off?
When Local Control is set to Off, no sound is produced by playing the
keyboard. Set Local Control to “On.”
Can’t hear the play back a
song
Could the local control setting be turned “Off”?
If the local control setting is “Off” when you play back a song, you won‘t
hear sound from the speakers of the RK-300.
No sound from the leftmost
notes of the keyboard
Could you be using these keys to switch the piano roll screen display?
If you’ve made settings so that the keyboard will switch the piano roll
screen display, the five leftmost notes of the keyboard will not produce
sound.
If you’ve pressed the [DRUMS] button so that the keyboard plays drum
sounds, no sounds will be heard when you play the A0–B1 keys.
Is V-LINK switched on?
When V-LINK is switched on, the A0–G#1 keys are used to control images,
and no sounds are played with these keys.
