Troubleshooting
If you think there’s a problem, read this first.

Power does not turn on
Is the power cord connected correctly?
The button doesn’t work
Is Panel Lock activated?
Hold down the [INPUT] button and press the [GUIDE] button to turn off
the Panel Lock function.
Nothing appears in the
screen
Since the RK-300 uses a liquid crystal screen, it may happen that no text
or graphics appear in the screen if the temperature is below zero degrees
Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit).

Touch panel does not
respond correctly
The touch panel position may drift due to changes in the environment or
the passage of time. Correct the drift as described in “Calibrating the
Touch Screen (Touch Screen).”
Can’t display the main screen
Could the [VIDEO MONITOR] button be lit?
If the [VIDEO MONITOR] button is lit, the RK-300’s display will show the
same image shown on the external display or television connected to the
RK-300.
Press the [VIDEO MONITOR] button or the [EXIT] button so the [VIDEO
MONITOR] button is turned off.
Song list does not appear
If no songs are stored in “Favorites” and you select “Favorites” as the song
location, the song list will not appear.
The song list will not appear if you select “Ext Memory” or “CD” as the
song location when USB memory or the CD-ROM do not contain any
songs.
If USB memory is not connected, no CD-ROM is inserted in the CD drive,
or no songs have been copied to the “Favorites,” you cannot select “Ext
Memory,” “CD,” or “Favorites” as the song location.
Pedal does not work, or is
“stuck”
Is the pedal connected correctly?
Connect the piano pedal included with the dedicated stand to the PIANO PEDAL
connector
.
Connect the pedal included with the RK-300 or other pedal to the CONTROL
PEDAL jack.
Unplugging a pedal cord from the RK-300 while the power is on may
cause the pedal’s effect to be applied nonstop.
Be sure to switch off the power to the RK-300 before attempting to
disconnect or connect a pedal cord.

If a different function is assigned to the soft pedal or sostenuto pedal, you
won’t be able to use them as the soft pedal or sostenuto pedal.
Device connected to the
Roland AUDIO/VIEO PORT
jacks and DVD PLAYER INPUT
jacks have insufficient
volume
Could you be using a connection cable that contains a resistor?
Use a connection cable that does not contain a resistor.

Remote control does not
work
If the remote sensor is turned off, the data from the remote control unit
will not be received. Refer to “Disabling the Remote Control Unit (Remote
Control).”
