6.3.2.15 area virtual-link authentication
This command configures the authentication type and key for the OSPF virtual interface
identified by and .
Syntax
area virtual-link authentication [{none | {simple } | {encrypt
<0-255>}}]
no area virtual-link authentication
- Area ID.
- Router ID of the neighbor.
none - No authentication.
- The [key] is composed of standard displayable, non-control keystrokes from a standard
101/102-key keyboard. The authentication key must be 8 bytes or less if the authentication type is simple.
If the type is encrypt, the key may be up to 256 bytes. Unauthenticated interfaces do not need an
authentication key.
<0-255> - Specifies the Key ID. The range is 0 to 255.
- This command configures the default authentication type for the OSPF virtual interface identified
by and .
Default Setting
The default authentication type is none.
