15. ENGINE CONTROL CABLE:
15.1. Mark the position of the engine control cable to
the fuel injection pump cable clamp and the fuel
injection pump lever. See Figure 15.1.
15.2. Loosen the cable clamp screw securing the
cable clamp and engine control cable in position
using an 8mm wrench.
15.3. Remove the engine control cable from the cable
clamp.
15.4. Remove the Z portion of the engine control cable
from the outside hole of the fuel injection pump
lever.
15.5. Pull the engine control cable out of the work
area.
16. HARNESS:
16.1. Remove the hex flange nut securing the positive
battery cable terminal, thick red wire, and heavy
wiring harness terminal from the starter solenoid
stud using a 12mm socket. See Figure 16.1.
16.2. Remove the wiring harness connector, orange
wire with a white tracer, from the front of the
starter solenoid by depressing the locking tab
and pulling forward. See Figure 16.2.
