6. LEFT FINAL DRIVE AND PINION GEAR
HOUSING ASSEMBLIES:
6.1. Remove all six hex bolts securing the outer final
drive housing to the inner final drive housing
using a 12mm socket. See Figure 6.1.
6.2. Remove the outer housing assembly from the
final drive. See Figure 6.2.

6.3. Place the outer housing assembly on a bench
with the final drive gear facing up.
See Figure 6.3.
6.4. With a partner holding the bottom of the final
drive gear, raise the assembly up and drive the
wheel/hub shaft out of the ball bearing using a
center punch and a large hammer.
NOTE: Make certain the wheel/hub shaft is not
damaged during removal.
6.5. Inspect the ball bearing for wear or damage.
NOTE: It is recommended to replace the ball
bearing.
6.6. Remove the outer retaining ring securing the
wheel/hub shaft in position using medium retain-
ing ring pliers. See Figure 6.6.
