7264 Compact Tractor
ENGINE REMOVAL:
NOTE: The 7264 Engine Removal section has
been technically written to follow along with the
Cub Cadet Compact 7264 Factory School.
1. BATTERY:
1.1. Pull up on the hood latch lever and pivot the
hood up. See Figure 1.1.
1.2. Raise the negative battery terminal cover. See
Figure 1.2.
1.3. Loosen the negative battery connector using a
5/16” socket.
1.4. Remove the negative battery connector from the
battery
1.5. Raise the positive battery terminal cover.

1.6. Loosen the positive battery connector using a
5/16” socket.
1.7. Remove the positive battery connector from the
battery.
1.8. Remove both wing nuts securing the battery
holddown strap and battery in position.
1.9. Remove the battery holddown strap.
1.10. Remove the battery from the tractor.
NOTE: The battery holddown rods can be pivot
forward to get them out of the way of battery
removal.
2. HOOD:
2.1. Remove all four wiring harness connectors from
the headlight bulbs by pulling the tabs outward.
See Figure 2.1.
NOTE: Do not remove the headlight bulbs.
2.2. Remove the wiring harness from the center hood
retaining clip.
2.3. Secure the hood in position.
