6.7. Remove the wheel/hub shaft from the outer final
drive housing using an arbor press.
See Figure 6.7.
6.8. Inspect the wheel/hub shaft for wear or damage.
See Figure 6.8.
6.9. Remove the outer ball bearing from the outer
final drive housing. See Figure 6.9.
6.10. Inspect the outer ball bearing for wear or dam-
age.
6.11. Remove the wheel/hub shaft’s oil seal from the
outer final drive housing using a seal removal
tool. See Figure 6.11.
NOTE: Replace the oil seal during assembly.
6.12. Inspect the outer final drive housing for wear or
damage.
6.13. Clean the outer housing’s mating face using a
scraper, cleaning pad and solvent.
