23.6. Drive a 90° removal tool into the front seal. See
Figure 23.6.
23.7. Pry the front seal out.
NOTE: Protect the new seal with plastic during
installation.
23.8. Secure the four wheel drive shaft assembly from
below.
23.9. Remove the external retaining ring securing the
four wheel drive shaft in position using small
retaining ring pliers. See Figure 23.9.
23.10. Remove the four wheel drive shaft assembly
from the front cover.
23.11. Separate all of the components and inspect
them for wear or damage. See Figure 23.11.
23.12. Remove the internal retaining ring securing the
front ball bearing in position using medium
retaining ring pliers. See Figure 23.12.
