35.3. Slide the four wheel drive shaft forward and out
from the tractor.
36. HI-LO SHIFT LINK ASSEMBLY:
36.1. Remove the hex flange lock nut and shoulder
screw securing the HI-LO shift link assembly to
the right transmission mounting bracket using a
9/16” socket and a 3/4” wrench. See Figure
36.1.
NOTE: Loctite™ the threads during assembly.
36.2. Remove the hairpin securing the flat washer and
HI-LO control rod to the HI-LO shift bracket
using needle nose pliers.
36.3. Remove the HI-LO shift link assembly and HI-LO
control rod.

37. TRANSMISSION REMOVAL:
37.1. Weave a large lifting strap under the front left
and right transmission mounting points.
37.2. Secure the large lifting strap in position at the left
front using a Factory School supplied flat washer
and hex screw.
37.3. Bring the ends of the large lifting strap together
and slide them into one another.
37.4. Secure the ends of the lifting strap to the top link
bracket using the clevis pin and hairpin.
37.5. Secure the lifting strap from above using an
engine hoist.
37.6. Apply tension to the lifting strap.
